Albermarle Enquirer: Mrs. M.B. Culpepper, of E. City, committed suicide on Tuesday night last, by drowning herself in the Ehrinhaus well. Cause unknown.
[It appears that this is Mrs. Marshall Bertrand Culpepper. On the 1870 census her first name is A.C. C. and on the 1880 census her first name is given as Christina. They had a son named John Bulcher Erskine Culpepper born February 17, 1869. He died August 19, 1954. He never married.]
