Rev. Mr. Byrd with the Methodist Church in 1883

year 1883

April 12, 1883 (The Commonwealth, a newspaper of Scotland Neck, NC, 3d page)

Dr. J.D. Hufham was engaged in a meeting at Tarboro last Sunday, and Rev. Mr. Byrd filled his pulpit at night. His audience was much pleased with his sermon. We congratulate our Methodist bretheren [sic] at Scotland Neck and Palmyra in having Mr. Byrd with them for the present year. He is an earnest worker, and his prospects for doing good are quite flattering for one so young.
