Pattie Cotton of Scotland Neck Living in Manly, NC, 1883

year 1883

April 5, 1883 (The Commonwealth, a newspaper of Scotland Neck, NC, 3d page)

Miss Pattie Cotton, one of Scotland Neck’s best young ladies, makes her home for the present at Manly, Moore county, N.C. We wish her a happy stay in the sand and among the “pines.”

[I think this may be the Pattie Cotton/Cotten born in December 1848, the daughter of Benjamin W. and Martha E. Cotton/Cotten. While census records usually spell the last name Cotton, her gravestone spells it Cotten. This Pattie Cotten died in 1922 and is buried in Scotland Neck.]
