Mr. Mizzell Injured When Horse Took Fright, NC, March 17, 1883

year 1883

March 22, 1883 (The Commonwealth, a newspaper of Scotland Neck, NC, 3d page)

–There was a serious run away in town last Saturday. Mr. Mizzell from near Palmyra was driving through town, when his horse took fright at a saw-mill near the depot, ran away and threw his child, his wife and himself from the buggy.  We learn that the wife and child were not hurt but that Mr. Mizzell was very seriously injured. One of our very polite clerks in town is to be much commended for taking care of the things scattered from the buggy in passing his store.
