Fraley Shoots Deputy Collector Walker, 1883

February 22, 1883 (The Commonwealth, a newspaper of Scotland Neck, NC, 2d page, 3d column)

A man named Dave Fraley shot United States deputy collector H. F. Walker, near Billsville,* on 9th. The trouble arose on account of an illicit distillery owned by Fraley’s father.
