January 11, 1883 (The Commonwealth, a newspaper of Scotland Neck, NC, 3d page, 1st column)

–We learn that Mr. Hope, of Palmyra, while wrestling with some one on last Saturday night was so unfortunate as to get his leg broken. Another warning to those who engage in this sport.

      Yeah, I chuckled realizing how quickly and truly this could happen, and then I winced with sympathy pain. Poor guy!
