Mr. A. L. Hassard-Short is now the conductor on the Scotland Neck railroad, and made his first trip last Tuesday. He makes a polite, clever and efficient officer. Long may he continue to shout, “All aboard!”

Capt. Hassard-Short recently sold his fine thorough-bred horse, “Outcast,” to a gentleman from the “bluegrass” State.

–We learn since last issue that Capt. Hassard-Short got $1,000 for “Outcast.”
