Sam Kitchin Injured When Wagon Wheel Breaks, NC, 1882

September 21, 1882 (The Commonwealth, a newspaper of Scotland Neck, NC, 3rd page, 1st column)

One day last week while Mr. Sam Kitchin was removing an engine from his father’s brick yard near town, on a wagon one of the wheels broke down, causing him to fall off, and before he could regain his feet the engine fell on him, inflicting a very severe wound on one of his legs.


[Samuel Boaz Kitchin was born in 1865 to William Hodges Kitchin and Marie Arrington. He died in 1917. His ID# is KLS9-8SP.]
