Marriage of J. R. Nelson and Florence Greenwood, NC, 1882

September 7, 1882 (The Commonwealth)

MATRIMONIAL–Mr. J. R. Nelson, Jr. one of our popular young merchants, and Miss Florence Greenwood, of Wilson, were united in the holy bonds of matrimony at the bride’s home, last Tuesday evening, Rev. Mr. Gwinn, officiating. The happy couple left on the northern bound train for Baltimore, followed by the best wishes of their friends. The Commonwealth extends congratulations, wishing them a long and happy life.

[I cannot find early records for the couple, but there is a very nice family tree with memories and photos on Ancestry.]
